Your treatment - Am I a qualified hypnotherapist?

It's important that you're hypnotherapist should be properly qualified and registered with the appropriate governing bodies. Experience, empathy and a willingness to listen are important too. (But regardless of how many courses a therapist has done or how experienced he/she is, it's really important that you trust him/her and feel that you can work together. Trust your own instinctive feelings!)

The qualifications I have which enable me to help you are listed below, but firstly a little about my personal beliefs.

hypnotherapist

I believe that you have the power to take control of your life and change it for the better.

hypnotherapist

I believe that therapy is all about helping you realise your full potential - helping you to believe in yourself.

hypnotherapist

I believe that my job is to help you remove the barriers and negative self-assumptions that are holding you back and stopping you being who you really are.

hypnotherapist

I believe that success is all about focussing on the things that really matter to you in your life - those things that will give you a real sense of self-esteem, happiness and peace of mind.

As far as appropriate qualifications are concerned, here they are:

I'm registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and am validated by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. I'm also accredited by the National Regulatory Register for Hypnotherapy. I have twelve years experience as a hypnotherapist helping people overcome all kinds of problems.

In 1998 I trained under the expert guidance of Vicki Watson who founded the now long-established National Society of Professional Hypnotherapists (NSPH). I hold full NSPH membership and am currently an approved external course supervisor for the National Society of Professional Hypnotherapists (NSPH). The NSPH is a Patron of the General Hypnotherapy Register, a member of the National Council of Psychotherapy, and a member of the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council.

One of my specialist areas is in helping people stop smoking. I'm an approved Smoking Cessation Therapist, registered with the Central Register of Stop Smoking Therapists (CRSST).

In 2001 I was introduced to Thought Field Therapy and then went on to to successfully complete the Callahan Techniques diagnostic training program.

As a therapist validated by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council and registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) I agree to abide by the GHR code of ethics.
