What is hypnotherapy?Hypnotherapy, sometimes called clinical hypnosis, is the use of hypnosis in a therapeutic setting. It's simply when hypnosis is used as a healing or life-enhancing treatment. Phenomenal changes can be made in your life through hypnotherapy. When it's used correctly, normally with the guidance of a skilled hypnotherapist, hypnotherapy is an astonishingly quick and effective way of bringing about positive changes. And yet, at the same time it's so surprisingly simple. I know that it does work, and yet when I think about it, in a way it still surprises me that it can do such a great job! There's really nothing mystical about hypnotherapy although some of the results can at times seem almost magical!

The best way to explain hypnotherapy is that it's like having someone gently guide you through a wonderfully relaxing daydream...... It can be an incredibly soothing experience! In fact, during your hypnotherapy session, your hypnotherapist leads you into a calm and relaxed state of mind which is very similar to when you're totally absorbed in a very pleasant daydream. When you're in this incredibly calm state of mind your hypnotherapist can bypass your critical, logical mind and make beneficial, positive suggestions directly to your subconscious mind. Your subconscious is the most powerful part of your mind. It's the part that allows you to access all your memories, habits and feelings. |
Using imagery and skillfully worded positive suggestions your hypnotherapist helps you reprogram your mind with the thoughts, images, habits and feelings that will help you achieve your goals. And as a bonus, you get to enjoy the added benefits of more confidence, deep relaxation, better sleep and feelings of peace. And who wouldn't want that?
Hypnotherapy with a skilled therapist trained in hypno-analysis (analytical hypnotherapy) can also get to the root of your problem, so that you have a much better understanding of why you're the way you are. It lets you sort out the emotional baggage that we all carry around.
